New Clothing Collection Bin at St. Augustine,
Eagle Park.
Knights of Council 311 team
with Cornerstone Alumni (many of whom are Knights) to raise the
money ($770) and purchase the clothing collection bin. Our
thanks to Monsignor Franco and building and grounds team for finding
a place to not only put this bin, but for the use of an out building
the size of a two car garage to sort and house the clothing we
collect for the needy.
The bin now resides behind
the school building, at the edge of the parking lot. If you've
ever been to one of our Italian Festivals, this is the area that is
the center of the whole fair. The bin is diagonally across
from the famous Kathie's Kitchen area.
St. Augustine parishioners
have the Clothing Drive team, headed by Knight Al Otero, working
overtime moving the clothes from the bin to the storage area for
sorting and stacking.
Grand Knight Peter Marengo
has been helping the Knights who started this ministry from its
beginnings, when they were only collecting clothing for the Midnight
Runs, which are done 4 times a year from St. Augustine school.
